Social Play for Learning - Experience and Science

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Why are we teaching children languages with worksheets and flashcards? Social Play is the foundation and natural way in which children learn language best. Through intentional play together children are able to be taught a variety of objectives embedded in music, art, games, etc. Using games and playing creates a compelling need to know, ask, examine, assimilate and master certain oral, written and reading skills and contents. This workshop will provide examples on how learning a language such as Spanish can be taught through playing together. Tools will be shared to aid programs and teachers in developing their own curriculums based on games. Let’s work to create joyful learning experiences for children!
